How to Use This Design
Step 1 — Download the file Click the download button above and save the ZIP file to your computer.
Step 2 — Unzip the file Right click the ZIP file and select “Extract All” (Windows) or double click (Mac) to unzip the folder.
Step 3 — Find your format Inside the folder you’ll find files in all 8 formats. Choose the one that matches your machine:
- PES — Brother, Baby Lock
- DST — Most commercial machines including Melco and Tajima
- JEF — Janome
- HUS/VP3 — Husqvarna Viking
- EXP — Bernina
- ART — Bernina Art software
- XXX — Singer
Step 4 — Transfer to your machine Transfer your design file to your machine via USB stick or direct connection depending on your machine model.
Step 5 — Stitch and enjoy! Select the design on your machine, hoop your fabric with the correct stabilizer and stitch it out!
Recommended Supplies for This Design
For best results with this tulip design I recommend:
For t-shirts and sweatshirts:
- Cutaway stabilizer — permanent support for stretchy fabrics
- Water soluble topping — prevents stitches sinking into fabric
- Polyester embroidery thread
For towels and linens:
- Tearaway stabilizer
- Water soluble topping — essential for fluffy surfaces
For tote bags:
- Tearaway or cutaway stabilizer depending on fabric weight
- No topping needed for smooth canvas
What Machine Did I Use?
I run this design on my professional Melco EMT16x — a 16-needle commercial embroidery machine. However this design is perfectly suited for any home machine including Brother, Janome and Singer models.
The smallest size (1.0″ x 3.0″) is especially beginner friendly and works beautifully on smaller hoops!
The design in DST format, size 1.0″ x 3.0″ stitched out using a 12cm ring hoop on a toddler dress.
